Local Governing Committee

The Local Governing Committee (LGC) supports the leadership and governance of Rivington and Blackrod High School. Working with the Head of School, senior leaders and Leverhulme Church of England and Community Trust, governors provide support, challenge and oversight to help the school achieve the best possible outcomes for its students.

Governors bring a range of skills, experience and perspectives to their work and help ensure that decisions reflect the needs of the school community.

The committee’s constitution provides for 12 members: the Head of School, three foundation governors, five co-opted governors, two parent governors and one staff governor.
